Quality Assurance Analyst, Professional Coding & Audit 

Full-Time | Remote

Job Overview/Purpose
This position has dual responsibilities. The first portion will be performing the duties of a Quality Assurance Analyst that is responsible for insuring quality coding performance, oversight, and training of CodingAID Coders and Auditors. The second and equal role will be performing coding quality audits on client base audit projects.

Essential Job Functions:

Complete the following functions in accordance with CodingAID policies:
  • Conduct internal and external coding compliance reviews
  • Provide feedback and training for new and existing CodingAID staff
  • Completes and distributes coding accuracy reports to both internal and external stakeholders as directed.
  • Serves as an educator or trainer to internal staff
  • Acts as a team subject matter expert and resource to the coding and audit teams.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes impacting coding requirements and ensures coding staff are appropriately educated.
  • Assists in the preparation of new client coding protocol manuals and updates existing as necessary.
  • Maintains consistent communication with coding leadership, coding and audit staff, and support staff to ensure goals are met.
  • Helps to create and update coding tests
  • Assists coding leadership by performing new coder or auditor orientation, client onboard and systems training.
  • Follow company and department policies, procedures and directives
  • Comply with policies regarding the use and disclosure of protected health information
  • Other duties as assigned


Ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Current certification from AAPC or AHIMA: CPMA, CPC, COC, CCS, RHIA or RHIT.
  • 5+ years of experience in physician coding and auditing
  • 3+ years of experience in performing coding quality assurance reviews
  • Extensive knowledge of medical terminology and ability to research coding related questions.
  • Must have experience with data entry of codes into a database and/or software tool. 
  • Must have experience with remote and/or face to face coder education. 
  • Knowledge and proficiency of Coding software and computer skills in Microsoft Office and EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems.
  • Experience writing reports.  Examples include: Provider Audit Reports, Coder Quality Report, and Summary Reports
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and meet multiple deadlines
  • Positive and solution-based attitude
